On farm energy series

Agriculture Victoria is hosting a series of webinars over the next three months exploring energy options on farm that may assist in the reduction of energy costs on farm.

The series of five webinars will include information on understanding electricity bills, options to increase energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies including solar and bioenergy.

The first webinar in the series will focus on understanding your electricity bill and supply and will be presented by GV Community Energy CEO Geoff Lodge on Wednesday April 21 at 12:00pm.

Agriculture Victoria Energy Development and Innovation Officer Sarah Clack said, “We are excited to have Geoff presenting at our first webinar, he has many years of experience assisting farmers to better understand their energy usage, reduce energy costs and implement solar solutions."

Geoff Lodge will guide participants through

• the electricity grid and connection

• electricity tariffs and charges

• getting the best deal for your farm.

Ms Clack said her team is focussed on providing access to appropriate information and delivering services that support investment in energy efficient technologies and own generation capacity.

“This webinar series is part of Victorian Government’s Agriculture Energy Investment Plan, which is supporting producers to improve energy usage on-farm.”
