Visitation Numbers Up in Latest National Visitor Survey
The Murray and Central Murray Regions have exceeded the national benchmarks when it comes to overnight visitation, according to the most recent figures from Tourism Research Australia.
The National Visitor Survey has revealed visitor numbers to the regions have both increased by more than 14% over the last year, which is well beyond the national increase of 7%.
The Central Murray also saw a large surge in expenditure by visitors, with a 33% increase meaning the region took in just shy of $500 million dollars last year.
Tourists on average spent $149 per night in the Central Murray region, and $136 per night in the Murray region.
