Koondrook Wharf Tallies Three Wins at Vic Architecture Awards
The Gannawarra region has produced a big winner at the Victorian Architecture Awards in Melbourne, with the Koondrook Wharf sweeping its categories.
The wharf managed to win three separate categories across the evening, with the Regional Prize, Urban Design and Small Projects gongs now heading to the Gannawarra Shire and architecture company Terroir.
Gannawarra Shire Council Mayor Brian Gibson says the awards acknowledge a wide range of contributors.
“These awards are recognition to architect Terroir, and a great acknowledgment to Council who managed the project and community members who worked on the design,” Gibson said.
As a result of winning at the state level, the wharf will now become a part of the nominations at the National Architecture Awards to be held in November.
The positive results also follow the Koondrook Wharf's nomination at the World Architectural Festival Awards, which is also set for November in Amsterdam.
