Kerang to take on Shepparton
KERANG Football Club will officially begin their historic MBCM Northern Country Women's League campaign on Sunday, May 7 against Shepparton.
The landmark tournament will provide Mallee women the opportunity to play football, with an eight-team 10 round tournament officially ready to go.
Competition chairman Chris Thomas said he couldn't wait for the tournament to arrive next month.
“Practise matches have been held over the past few weeks and we have been getting really positive feedback from teams about their preparations and playing numbers” he said.
“The 10 round will season will include a general bye for the Queens Birthday weekend in June and a split round in Round 8 before the finals commence at the end of July."
A traditional final four finals system will be used, with the grand final slated for August 13.
